We begin with the most trending news which occurred on Thursday, February 23, when unknown men invaded the home of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott, which resulted in the death of her niece that was killed by stabbing.

Another official of the Liberian government was detained in India this week for alleged rape, months after Moses Owen Browne, the country's permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), was detained in South Korea.

Carlos T. Dahn, an official of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, was arrested by Khanna Police in the Indian state of Punjab for allegedly raping a 22-year-old Liberian student.

A battle for supremacy between the Minister of Education and the Director General of the National Commission on Higher Education broke out this week in response to the National Commission on Higher Education's announcement of a new policy that forbade holders of non-doctoral degrees from holding the position of president of any tertiary institution.

The long-awaited preliminary results from Liberia's first population census since 2008 were released last week, showing a rise in population of 1.7 million.
