VP Howard-Taylor Hails MV LOGOS Hope for Visit to Liberia

Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has hailed the management of the MV LOGOS Hope for its decision to visit Liberia. The LOGOS Hope Ship is managed by GBA Ships, a non-profit organization based in Germany that operates ships that sail the world to share knowledge and lend alms to the underprivileged.

As a Christian organization, the GBA Ships also promotes international understanding through cultural exchange programs, community service initiatives, and floating book fairs. At the official opening of the ship on March 22, Vice President Howard-Taylor thanked the management of GBA Ships for coming to Liberia. She extended the warmest appreciation to them on behalf of the government and the people of Liberia.

She noted that services provided by the ship in the next couple of weeks are essential, especially the Library services that provide up-to-date books that would help enhance the reading skills of the population. The Liberian Vice President then encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the services being provided by the ship and abide by all compliance measures during visitation on board the vessel.

For his part, the Managing Director of LOGOS Ship, Randy Grebe, welcomed the Vice President on the ship while thanking her for visiting and meeting with his team. Mr. Grebe said he and his team are glad to be in Liberia and will work alongside the appropriate individuals and institutions to ensure that the services are effectively rendered.

The official ship opening ceremony was also attended by the Liberia Council of Churches President, Bishop Kortu Brown. The ship, which is currently docked at the Freeport of Monrovia, will be in Liberia for several weeks to provide services to the public in education, healthcare, religious education, and cultural exchange programs, amongst others.
