A release from the Liberia Football Association, published on Wednesday, October 13, says the continental football governing body has accepted its request to carry out an independent stadium re-inspection visit to reevaluate and verify the current status of the stadium ahead of Match Day 5 & 6 of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 African Qualifiers scheduled for November. The re-inspection visit was initially scheduled for 12-13 September, “but the LFA requested it to be canceled following the Ministry of Sports’ honest communication that the SKD playing pitch, which was the subject of rejection during CAF’s previous Inspection visits, wasn’t ready.” During this inspection, a final decision will be reached by CAF regarding the approval of the stadium for Liberia’s qualifier home matches with Nigeria and the Central African Republic. CAF Stadium Inspector, Ivan Bayige Kintu of Uganda, is assigned the task of the three-day inspection and will be in Monrovia on Friday, 15 October after a stop in Nigeria for a similar purpose. The Ministry of Youth and Sports, along with the Liberia FA, has been carrying out a series of works on the playing pitch for the past weeks, but only CAF, through its inspection team, will determine whether the playing pitch is now playable for Liberia’s home games in November. kokoianthony@gmail.com (Anthony Kokoi) 51eb627e-5799-4156-bdd7-75418dca3867 Thu, 14 Oct 2021 03:19:18 +0000 Liberian Observer - Liberia's First Independent Daily CAF AWCON: Liberia Begin Preparation to Face Senegal https://www.liberianobserver.com/caf-awcon-liberia-begin-preparation-face-senegal Liberia’s senior women’s national football team commenced training on Wednesday, September 29, ahead of the 2022 CAF Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers.
