Statement by Wokie Dolo to Miss Liberia 2022

I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the president and government of liberia, my strong and loyal supporters, fans and the liberian people for giving me the opportunity to represent them in and out of liberia as miss liberia 2017. My journey has been a life changing experience and I could never change it for anything.

I wish to inform all Liberians that I have officially communicated to the organizers of Miss Liberia 2022 about my absence from this year's pageant. Sadly the event was planned at a time that conflicted with an important engagement that ties with my career and my current obligations to the miss earth Liberia project.

I wish I were consulted prior to my engagement on the date of the pageant so as to avoid conflict in my schedule and event. As you can imagine, it’s been a long 5 years since I became Miss Liberia, which reign as per protocol expired in 2018. Of course, I had to continue to carry out my career with or without support from the office of Miss Liberia 2017.

I do understand the calls for me to be present, which I highly appreciate but unfortunately am already out of the country on my existing engagement mentioned above.

I would like to take this opportunity to again thank my family, friends, partners of miss Liberia 2017, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to my journey for their tremendous support and love over the period. you guys are the real gem.

I also wish the organizers a successful event and from what I have been following, I believe there will be a great Miss Liberia 2022 as the quality of contestants is remarkable. I also wish all the contestants the best of luck and may the best person win. In due course, I will be available to give the winner tips and ideas on how to handle the high level of responsibilities associated with being Miss Liberia.
