Darling club Invincible Eleven have appointed Thomas Kojo as technical director of the second division club ahead of the new season.
Kojo joined the club having served in a similar position with former first division champions Barrack Young Controller. On September 13, Kojo and BYC reached an agreement to exit the club after serving in the technical department of the club for two years.
IE interim president Sekou Keita, who considers Kojo as a mentor, said, “Kojo comes with a very rich history, both as a player and coach, and is undoubtedly a valuable addition to the team and IE family.”
The hiring of the former Lone Star player is part of the club’s continuous restructuring process after they were relegated to the second division.
The ‘Sunshine Yellow Boys’ were last season relegated after collecting 15 points out of 22 games. During their struggling period last season, the IE Majestic Sports Association set up an interim leadership to steer the affairs of the association with the aim of preventing the team from being relegated to the second division league.
The 13-time league winners, after the appointment of their interim leadership, secured the signatures of several players, including four foreign players, to beef up their squad to avoid relegation, but did not achieve their short-term goal.
The ‘Yellow Boys’ became stronger in the second half of the season and also delayed the celebration of champions LISCR after the Shipping Boys fought from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw.
IE Majestic Sports Association have over the past months embarked on a campaign to rally support from their fans for the upcoming season.
