Liberia’s young international central defender Dennis Teah has reportedly signed a contract extension with Jordanian football club Al-Ahli (Amman) for another year, after an impressive season.

The 23-year-old’s debut season ended with the 1st division Jordanian club on May 27 this year where he missed one of nearly 35 games; he scored two goals with more than five assists.

The dependable central defender most often and interchangeably plays central defense or right-back defender for Al-Ahli.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Observer yesterday, Dennis confirmed the extension and said he would return to Jordan at the end of the month.

“The season was ok, I played all the games, except one, because I got two yellow cards which is equivalent to a red card — but overall I was impressive and so the team extended my contract,” Dennis said.

He indicated that he made a breakthrough with the club without injuries and is grateful to God for becoming a key part of a team which finished 5th on the 1st division league in Jordan.

The Liberian growing professional player didn’t mince his words to thank BYC family for its support and said his success on the team was rooted from the discipline which was instilled in him by the club.

Dennis was originally scheduled to stay with DC United in the USA, but controversially came back to Liberia.

Dennis also played for LPRC Oilers. Acting LFA president Musa Shannon, who is also Dennis’ advisor said the association is proud of Dennis’ performance in Jordan and is positive that he would play in one or two of the top flight leagues in Spain, England, Italy, Germany or France.

“Teah is a big player, one of the best and young players to come out of our administration, and a true product and we will continue to support and wish him the best,” Shannon said.
