For 10 days Team Liberia participated in the 2nd Street Child World Cup in Brazil. The team had a wonderful experience, mingling with players from 19 countries.
The Street Child World Cup (March 28-April 10, 2014) gave these former street children a chance to air their concerns to the world and demanded for immediate attention to their cause.
Team Liberia was aided for the trip by Street Child UK and other local agencies, including NOCAL, Putu Iron Ore, NASSCORP and Aqualife.
Public Relations Officer Tarsha Mathies Jackson told the Daily Observer yesterday that Street Child Liberia continues its role in helping to locate children who practically live outside their homes and on their own. Team Liberia returned home last Thursday to an enthusiastic crowd of parents and well-wishers.
