Scores as FK Tarkai trash FK Utenis Utena 4-0
The Lithuanian league is a tough league where eight teams play up to 28 rounds, with each team playing its opponents four times in a single season. Currently, there is only one Liberian player, Murphy Oscar Dorley, plying his soccer career in this league, after signing a three-and-a-half year contract with FK Tarkai in July 2016. Since scoring his three goals for the club during his debut season, midfielder Dorley’s performance in the Lithuanian league continue to trend the right path as the young midfielder continue to record his name on the team’s score sheet.
Though the main functions of a midfielder involve creating goals and disrupting opposing team players, midfielder Dorley continues to create and score goals. Following his last four goals in three consecutive league games back in May, the 19-year-old returned to the scoring sheet yesterday after scoring in FK Tarkai’s 4-0 win over FK Utenis Utena. The former Monrovia Club Breweries midfielder slotted home his fifth league goal in the 56th minute to help his side secure comprehensive victory, with his side remaining in the second position on the league table.
FK Tarkai is now has 41 points out of 21 matches; six points behind the league leaders Zalgiris.
With the team’s top goal scorer Maksim Maksimov topping the chat with 10 goals, the Liberian international midfielder is the second top goal scorer with 5 goals. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player award after helping his side to finish in the second position last season. The 19-year-old has so far scored nine goals in all competitions for the Lithuanian club.
