Cece United Battles Zubah Town FC for Quarterfinals Slot

The Montserrado County Community League playoffs have reached a crucial stage, with various teams targeting the quarter-finals. Having won one and lost one of its two group stage matches, Cece United will today enter a “Win or Drop” battle against Zubah Town FC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium. The Saye town based club led by captain Tony Shilley will have to secure a win to book their slot in the quarter finals.

United started the group stages on a good footing after thrashing Zanthy FC 3-1 after skipper Shilley scored a brace followed by midfielder Prince Sannah’s late goal that clinched the victory for United. United later lost 3-4 in its second group stage match against SYP. The defeat hindered United’s chance of going level on points with Zubah Town FC.

Zubah Town FC is currently seated at the top of the group with six points after defeating Zanthy FC and SYP in their first two matches, while United and SYP are leveled on 3 points after one win out of two apiece.

Both United and SYP will now be hoping for a win with more goals that will determine who joins Zubah Town FC to advance to the quarter finals.
