The Acting President of the Liberia National Table Tennis Association (LNTTA), Amos Korvah has announced that the LNTTA will go to the polls on Saturday, November 30, 2013, to elect new leadership.
Mr. Korvah, constitutionally, as Vice President was sworn-in as the president in 2010, owing to the death of President Lord Brownell in 2010.
In an interview yesterday, he named Mr. Charles Collins, as head of Table Tennis Ad-hoc Elections Commission. Other members include Jerry Freeman and Douglas Nimely.
Contested positions include: President, Vice President, Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Chaplain.
Contestants are: President, Vice President for Administration, Vice President for Technical Affairs, Treasurer and Financial Secretary and the elections will be conducted on a secret ballot without a proxy vote.
Mr. Korvah indicated that elections will be held at the table tennis offices at Sports Commission on Broad Street, and only active and eligible members will be allowed to vote and votes will be done in “secret.”
He is expected to contest for the Presidency; other candidates for various positions are yet to be known.
