Mr. Roland Mulbah was last Friday elected president of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia, SWAL.
Mulbah was elected with 52 votes. His close rival, outgoing vice president Martina Brooks, polled 42 votes.
Richard Manuba got 10 and Leroy Sonpon got 1 vote.
In a message to the president-elect, Richard Manuba commended the winner, along with his colleagues, friends and family for what he called "their involvement with [his] bid to have been the right man leading the transformation of SWAL.” He said, “The voters, my colleagues, who hold the power of their votes, thought it differently. All the same, I remain a loyal SWAL member and a robust sports journalist in the Republic of Liberia.” Manuba said, “In all sincerity, I don’t feel a sense of defeat because I highly respect the rights of my colleagues to their choice of leaders.”
