The Liberia Telecommunication Corporation (LIBTELCO) has signed the country’s national coach and one time most celebrated player, James Salinsa Debbah, as its new image.
The signing ceremony took place Tuesday, December 15 at the company’s headquarters in Congo Towns, a press release said.
“Debbah by this endorsement will become the face and image of LIBTELCO for a full year, and will be placed on several of the company’s promotional brands including billboards,” the release said.
Debbah’s image will be used in promoting sales and marketing for the company on radio, TV, internet and other platforms.
Debbah has raised hopes and aspirations for the nation’s pride, leaving Liberians with no doubt that Lone Star will be at the 2016 African Cup of Nations in Kigali, Rwanda.
Debbah began his professional football career with Mighty Barolle in 1984. In 1989, he left Liberia for Union Douala of Cameroon and later moved to the French squad Olympique Alès. He also played for AS Monaco, Olympique Lyonnais, OGC Nice, and R.S.C. Anderlecht of Belgium. He also played for Paris St.
Germain, Ankaragucu and Iraklis of Greece, and other clubs in UAE, Bahrain and Indonesia.
Debbah was part of both the 1996 and 2002 Lone Star’s squads in the African Cup of Nations in South Africa and Mali.
