The LFA Elections Commission, headed by Malcolm W. Joseph has set March 22, 2014 for the election of officers of the Liberia Football Association.
At a press conference last Monday at the LFA headquarters in Monrovia, Chairman Joseph said there will be three categories with the highest number of votes as winners in each category.
He said presidential candidates must have good financial standing and must pay registration fee of US$750.
“The candidate must also have good moral character in the society,” he said.
He said one seat (out of ten) has been allotted for a female on the Executive Committee.
Mr. Joseph said receipt of applications from aspirants should be submitted from February 10-21; publication of lists of eligible voters is from Feb. 11-21, among other activities leading to the elections on March 22, at a venue to be determined by the Liberia Football Association.
He explained that vice presidential candidates will pay a non-refundable registration fee of US$500.
Chairman Joseph said there is room for protest, allowing candidates to file within 24 hours.
He also explained that the posts of president and vice president for administration and operations will be one vote per association, and the winners determined by fifty plus one vote in a category.
“No club will nominate more than ten aspirants for the executive committee level,” he said.
