The former office assistant at the Liberia Football Association, Mr. Joseph F. Cooper died last week, according to family sources.
He was 63 years old.
The late Cooper worked with the Liberia Football Association from 1984-1994.
The remains are presently at the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home and funeral is set for November 8, at the Holy Family Catholic Church of Caldwell with interment following thereafter at the Cooper’s family burial plot.
Said long time friend former FIFA referee Idrissa Kaba expressed shock at his death but said, “Cooper was one of those who worked to revive Liberian football when President Doe became chairman of the Liberia Football Association.”
Kaba said death is the starting point of the history of everyone living, to indicate what an individual leaves behind as a legacy.
The deceased nephew John Bonah, also of the LFA, said, “My uncle’s death is a loss but victory in the Lord Jesus Christ.”
He is survived by his wife Namuyan Mulbah-Cooper, daughter Lorpu Tutu-Girl Cooper (USA), and many relatives and friends.
