Mr. Henry Browne, technical director of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), and Mr. Francis Tamba, CAF Education Officer, have returned home, after participating in a three-day workshop in Cameroon.

The workshop was organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for technical directors and education officers of all CAF member associations in Africa.

The participants deliberated, among other subjects, the role of CAF technical directors and education officers and e-learning as it is applied on the C License assessment for coaches.

Another subject examined was “Coaching Licensing System, How to go Forward” and there were plenary discussions in which the participants drew up conclusions and made recommendations.

They learned about how CAF prioritizes its soccer development; and participants watched video clips of CHAN 2016, discussed its major components and drew up what they could apply for their various national soccer teams.

The three-day workshop was rewarding, according to Mr. Browne in an interview with the Daily Observer yesterday.

“The workshop gave us another perspective on what we should be doing to improve and also in line with CAF development objectives,” Browne said.

He said they were challenged to assist and support national clubs and youth teams (including female teams) to work within the framework of CAF’s development agenda.

CAF Education Officer Tamba said the three-day gathering reinforced his focus, specifically to deal with issues about CAF’s soccer education programs in Liberia.

“We gained a great deal of insight on the challenges in improving on the game and by initiating strategies to national associations for implementation,” Coach Tamba said.

The two men said they have returned armed with knowledge to support Liberian football development in all levels and appealed to clubs to make use of their ability to help them move further ahead in their objectives.

They commended the Liberia Football Association for supporting their participating in the just ended workshop for the good of Liberian football.
