Barrolle’s President Madam Julia Duncan- Cassell has tendered her resignation.
In a letter to the Board of Directors of the Mighty Barrolle Sports Association, the former President said her decision was based on her current unprecedented and increasing role required to coordinate programs and activities at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, where she serves as Minister.
According to the Assistant Secretary General of Barrolle, Webster Cassell, the former President said she enjoyed the hospitality and cooperation of all members and fans, noting that she will forever remain grateful as she moves forward towards her future career.
Recounting her achievements, the former president named the securing of office space, exposure of players to international encounters, as well as reawakening the spirit of supporters in the United States among others.
The former president applauded the invaluable services, advice and encouragement proffered by the Board of Directors including supporters and sympathizers; and hoped that such would continue to move the club forward.
The former President also thanked the fans for all the support during her tenure and she made specific reference to; Cllr. Theophilus Gould, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, Madam Medina Wesseh, Mr. Emmanuel Shaw, Associate Justice KabinehJa’neh, Associate Justice Sie-A- Nyene Youh, and Associate Justice Jamesetta Howard-Wolokollie as permanent and dependable fans who stood by her in supporting the club during her tenure.
She added that their support will forever be remembered.
The secretary general of Barrolle, Alvin Brown confirmed Madam Cassell’s resignation and said the Board of Directors will meet this week to deliberate on it.
Meanwhile reports also said Barrolle’s Vice President for Administration, Atty. Joyce Reeves Woods, has also decided to resign and she is expected to formally deliver it today.
Mighty Barrolle is one of Liberia’s oldest teams, founded in the 1960s.
