Thirteen members have been disqualified and are ineligible to participate in the November 29 leadership elections of the Liberia Athletics Federation while 15 others have been declared eligible.
Six out of the seven athletics clubs were barred including Success 2000, Fast Track, Zoyah, Liberty, Fast Spikes and Ndolor. Only Conquerors Athletics Club was endorsed.
The head of the ad-hoc elections commission Cllr. Sylvester Rennie who made the announcement did not give reasons for their exclusion, but reports said they were barred for being inactive over the years as well as their non-participation in tournaments, meetings, and payment of dues amongst others.
Other ineligible voters are John Henries, the Chairman on Veteran Committee, Madam Carmella Smallwood, the Women’s Commission Chairlady, Assistant Secretary General James W.S. Wrokpoh and member Roland Barclay.
Eligible voters include President Mulbah Zaza, Vice President for Administration Gbour S. Wilson, Secretary General D. Winston Cole, I and Treasurer Frederick Krah.
Others are Financial Secretary Korkulo Roberts; Cllr. Sylvester Rennie, Arbitration Chairman; Protocol John T. Pettiquoi; Public Relations Chairman Horatio B. Willie, Medical Committee Chairman Morris S. Dukuly and the chairman for the technical committee, Kesselee Kanneth, Daniel Forkpa, chairman on membership, Coach Massaquoi president, Coaches Association and representatives from Athletes’ Commission and ISSA.
