Football to Develop the Destitute (FODEDE) has received 100 footballs from the YMCA to implement its school league.
Presenting the footballs to officials of FODEDE on Monday, the Assistant Secretary General for Development at the YMCA, Timotheus Kamaboakia, said the donation is to “foster community youth sports.”
Mr. Kamaboakai urged FODEDE to use the footballs for their intended purpose.
Mr. Wallace Weiah, the President of FODEDE said FODEDE in partnership with Child Liberia and the Liberia Football Association, intends to take football to female students to develop the secondary league.
For her part, LFA EC member Rochell Woodson hailed YMCA for the donation and described the donation as timely.
The Executive Director of Child Liberia, Welleh Bohlen, disclosed that Football for Hope International has approved a grant of US$15,000 to introduce football in schools amongst female students under their program “Students on the Move.”
The donation is part of One World Futbol donations to the country through the YMCA.
