Several Liberian players based abroad were over the weekend in action for their respective clubs, with Murphy Oscar Dolley and Sylvanus Nimley on target for their clubs in Lithuania and Russia respectively.
Beginning in Russia, forward Nimley registered another league goal for Spartak Moskva II after getting the opener in Moskva II’s 3-1 win against Tyumen yesterday at the Moskva home ground.
The 19-year-old scored the opener of the match in the 27th minute to put his side in a better position for a win. The goal was his third in the league after scoring two consecutive goals in the last two games. In last week’s encounter, the Liberian attacker came off the bench to rescue his team after he scored a late equalizer.
Over to Lithuania, 19-year-old Liberian midfielder, Oscar Dolley scored his eighth league goal, the third goal in Tarkai FK’s 5-1 victory against Kauno Žalgiris in the Lithuania “A” Lyga in Vilnius.
Dolley increased his team’s goal tally to 3-0 in the 16th minute after his teammates got the first two goals in the 1st and 12th minutes. Yesterday’s goal recorded the 19-year-old’s eighth out of 27 appearances.
In the Saudi Arabian Pro League, goal scoring striker William Jebor featured for 69 minutes after Al Nassr drew 2-2 against Ohod in Medina. The Liberian striker, who has scored only a goal since joining the Saudi Arabian club in July, made his third start of the season but was unlucky to hit the target since he came off the bench to rescue his side in a 1-1 draw against Al Ahli on September 17. His team is now seated third on the league table with 13 points out of seven matches.
In Sweden, midfielder Archie Harvey made his ninth appearance for Arameiska after he was introduced in the 68th minute in his team 1-0 loss to Carlstad United in the Swedish Division 1 league. The 24-year-old midfielder is yet to register a goal since joining the club.
It was a similar story for America based Seku Conneh after his team, Bethlehem Steel, was defeated 4-0 by Louisville City in the USL league. The 21-year-old attacker has so far scored 10 goals in his 26 appearances this season.
