Double champions LISCR FC have added two additional players, Prince Saydee and Sam Kollie formerly of Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) and FC Fassell respectively to their lineup.
The signing of the two players summed up the ‘Shipping Boys’ new signings to ten since the start of the transfer period and increased the team’s number of newly signed attackers and defenders.
Forward Saydee and striker Kollie will look to give the ‘Shipping Boys’ more force upfront to defend their double titles in the pending Liberia Football Association new league season. Both players were signed to a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
“We can confirm the signing of striker Sam Kollie and forward Prince Saydee on a three-year deal,” the club wrote on their official Facebook page.
Forward Saydee, 22, comes to LISCR from BYC that he joined since 2013. The 22-year-old joined BYC from Liberia’s traditional club Invincible Eleven and scored 23 goals in 47 appearances for the ‘Go Blue Boys.’
During his spell at BYC, the young forward was also opportune to several international tryouts due to his impressive performances. He was also called up to the national team in 2013 under the guidance of then-coach Frank Jericho Nagbe in his 22-man squad for the Lone Stars’ match against Uganda.
Last season, the forward struggled to put on his scoring boots and his perfectly placed passes with his club and the national team.
His new teammate Kollie who had a disappointing season with former club Fassell last season will also be hoping to recover and play his best for his new club.
Striker Kollie was among several young players whose ambition of lifting the 1st division title with FC Fassell last season was dashed after the club was found guilty of fielding ineligible players. Kollie last featured against LISCR in the quarter-finals of last season’s FA Cup where he scored the opening goal. He struck from about 23 yards for the opener before LISCR overturned the scores 2-1 and advanced to the semis on 3-2 aggregate.
