This year’s marathon might be the most crowded as compared to the 2011 and 2013 Liberia Marathons owing to lot of interests from individual athletes- active and amateur, the disabled, groups as well as foreign nationals.

The Liberia Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, November 8.

The Hill Social and Athletics Club (HILLSAC), has announced that over 250 of its members are poised to contest in the 2015 Liberia Marathon.

HILLSAC’s president Odusanya Muhamed Abdulhakeed disclosed that 250 members would participate in the 10k race (from John F. Kennedy to SKD Complex). Two of their athletes are training for the 21km (13miles) race.

Mr. Abdulhakeed said as November 8 comes closer, they would increase their coaches. The current coaches are Constance Williams, Peter Kollie, Zumba Emmanuel and Ansumana Varney.

“We were founded in 2000 and participated in 2011 and 2013 marathons as well as the recently held Olympic Day Run,” the HILLSAC boss said.

The 2015 Liberia Marathon was postponed twice owing to the Ebola virus.
