Nimba United Football Club has denied local media reports that the team is negotiating with former Barrack Young Controller’s (BYC) and LISCR FC’s Head Coach Robert Lartey over a possible deal.
The former Liberia Football Association (LFA) first division champion in a release described the report as mere speculation that is far from the truth.
Nimba United said it has no plan now or in the future to sign on Coach Lartey, and has urged those linking the coach with the Club to properly investigate.
“We have not declared our coaching post is vacant, although Coach Kollie Korvy’s contract with us expired recently, but the club is still in talks with him. He has done a great work over the years, which we appreciate so much and can’t let him go just like that until he decides himself. He took us from relegation to champions,” the Mountaineers’ statement said.
The Nimba United release said while it is true that Coach Kollie Korvy’s contract with the club has expired, the club is still in talks with him to hold on.
United described Coach Korvy as one of the best on the local scene, verifying that the club will not hastily replace him if negotiations with him don’t materialize.
