The Monrovia Football Academy will this week host Dr. Yene Assegid, a transformational leadership coach, according to a release from the MFA.
Dr. Assegid, a world-renowned leadership trainer from Ethiopia, will be visiting the academy from November 27 to December 1.
“Dr. Assegid will work directly with Monrovia Football Academy’s 17 staff members – including academic teachers, football coaches, medics, caterers, and administrators – to enhance the Academy’s collaborative team–based leadership structure,” the release said.
As a world-renowned leadership trainer, Dr. Assegid works with executives and high potential teams on talent development, change management, and organizational transformation in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Assegid earned her BA in business from the American University, her MBA from University of Maryland and PhD from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
She has always said that she gained her greatest educational experience during the years she spent working with women who had survived prostitution in the streets of Addis Ababa; the time she spent with street children and former child soldiers in Sierra Leone; and witnessed as a child the ravages of the Ethiopian revolution in the mid-seventies.
The release further said: “Dr. Assegid is particularly excited to be donating her time, knowledge, and resources to Monrovia Football Academy after meeting the Academy’s executive director while participating on the same panel at the 2017 Oxford Africa Conference.”
Over the past 25 years Dr. Assegid has provided training to institutions such as the European Union, UNICEF, UNDP, multiple Fortune 500 companies, and several women–led social enterprises across the African continent.
