After it was last held four years ago, another edition of the LISCR FC Trust Tournament will this weekend kickoff at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) with eight teams to compete for the $30,000 cash prize and trophy.

The tournament, which is being organized by LISCR FC, is the third edition and will comprise four first division clubs and four second and third division clubs.

Following the random selection at the ATS yesterday, top seeded Monrovia Club Breweries and NPA Anchors will kickoff with the opening match on December 14 before Watanga FC and newly promoted second division side Bristol FC of Margibi County will clash in the second encounter.

Later on Thursday, December 15 host team LISCR FC will take on Pags FC in the first encounter before Keitrace FC battle Small Town FC.

The four winners from the first round will advance to the semi-finals on Saturday, December 16. According to the fixtures, the winner of game one will face the winner of game two, while the winners of games three and four will face each other in the last semi-finals.

The tournament is aimed at testing the strength of participating clubs ahead of the new league campaign. However, first division side Keitrace FC have vowed to use their young players and showcase their talents in the tournament. The participants were given US$250 each as preparation fees.

In the two previous editions in 2012 and 2013, Jasmine Ranger and Aries FC were the respective winners.
