After being the last two teams to qualify for the last 14 of the ongoing Knockout Cup, first division LISCR FC and third division champion side Muscat FC were yesterday paired in the round two draw of the competition.

Muscat joined the last 14 after they defeated their 3rd division championship counterparts Grass-field Athletic Club 1-0, scored by their new striker Mark Yallah in the 64th minute, while their next opponents LISCR FC advanced to the next round following the 2-0 victory over Watanga FC.

It was LISCR’s second win against Watanga in three matches after LISCR secured four points for the two times they met in the championship.

In other pairings, league leaders FC Fasssel will go against Morris Young Tigers FC after their crucial victory against Barrack Young Controllers on Wednesday.

On Thursday, May 25, outstanding third division championship side Samira FC will go against Jubilee in the first encounter, while Nimba United will battle Holders FC in the second encounter.

In Friday’s pairings, May 26, it will be another difficult task for the Sunshine Yellow Boys (Invincible Eleven) when they go against their first division counterparts, Keitrace FC. The Sunshine Yellow Boys have lost twice to Keitrace this season. Later in the second match, another first division clash will see LPRC Oilers going against Monrovia Club Breweries, who advanced to the second round after defeating Harbel Athletic 2-1 in their first knockout match.

The final knockout match on Saturday, May 27, will see FC Bea Mountain facing first division strugglers ELWA United.
