The 2019 Liberia Football Association national league kicks off with two Super Cup matches at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Sunday.

Female defending champions Earth Angels will meet Blanco FC in the first game at 2:15 PM.

First division defending champions Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) will battle LISCR FC in the second game at 4:00 PM.

This will be the latest meeting in which the teams will renew their rivalry.

Since the arrival of LISCR’s Gambian coach Tapha Manneh, the Shipping Boys and Go Blue Boys have met on four occasions.

They drew goalless in the 2017 season at the Blue Field before Trokon Myers, who was dressed but bizarrely watched from the stands due to a transfer saga, came to hunt his former club by scoring the only goal at the ATS in the return leg.

LISCR were 4-2 winners on penalties after a goalless draw in their pre-season Unification Cup.

BYC got a good measure of revenge when they spectacularly hammered LISCR 4-0 in the finals of the 2018 LFA Cup at the ATS.

Myers, this time, was the architect of the victory, grabbing a brace to the disbelief of Manneh.

All teams have received their financial packages plus five Caf-approved match balls.

First division clubs received US$3,500 while second division and female clubs received US$1,500 respectively.
