The semi-finals of the 2019 Liberia Football Association under-15 Heroes Cup will begin at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium today, Friday, February 22, 2019.
Keitrace Football Academy, which topped Group One with seven points, will meet Cece United, who qualified from Group Four with five points, at 3:00 PM.
Junior Marshall Football Academy, which qualified from Group Two with seven points, will knock boots with One Goal Football Academy, who accumulated nine points from Group Three, at 4:30 p.m.
Barrack Young Controllers President Nathaniel Sherman and former Liberia international Washington Blay will take the kick-off to the first and second matches, while former Liberia coach Josiah Nagbe Johnson will also be among the guests of honor.
The winners will meet in the grand finale at the ATS on 24 February at 4:00 PM.
The Heroes Cup is the LFA’s project to celebrate the contribution and recognition of former players who served and uplifted Liberian football.
The tournament is to also honor icons and players like Wanibo Toe, John ‘Monkey’ Brown, Victor Seah, Patrick Doeplah, Benedict ‘Mama Musa’ Wesseh, Josiah Nagbe Johnson, Frank Jericho Nagbe, Sr., Washington Blay, Sakpa ‘Myers’ Nyenswah, Borbor Gaye, Dominic Vava George, President George Manneh Oppong Weah, James Salinsa Debbah and Zeogar Wilson.
It is to also remember several players like Murphy Nagbe, Patrick Jackson and Nathaniel Sherman, who got injured on national duty.
