The Liberia National Handball Association (LNHA) will today hold a certificate program for coaches and referees at the Ahmadiyya School near St. Paul Bridge community.
According to a release from the association, the program, which was earlier postponed, is in fulfillment of a handball workshop conducted at the D. Tweh High School Campus in New Kru Town.
“We want to inform the 17 schools’ coaches and referees that were trained on June 12, 2015, that the certification program has finally been scheduled for November 4, 2016,” the release said.
The release also added that there will be a mini Olympic among the 17 schools that participated in the competition in June of last year.
“In order to evaluate and reawaken the spirit of handball in the Borough as we get prepared for the International Curriculum Development Course, we will hold a mini Olympic,” it added.
The association, in its release, also stated that a handball will be awarded to the most improved player, while another will be given to the most improved female player.
“Additionally, the most improved referees and coaches will receive one set of red and yellow cards, plus the time card.”
The LNHA is still awaiting the arrival of curriculum materials from its international partners in order to determine the final date for the commencement of its training course.
