Who Wins Good Friday Duel?

LISCR FC captain Mohammed Varney has expressed confidence of thrashing BYC FC 3-1, and would score more than one goal in the Good Friday’s match.

Skipper Varney told the Daily Observer through facebook chat on Tuesday that his side is determined to whip the current football champion to serve as impetus of winning the 2015 LFA League after two years of title drought.

“We are confident, we are strong, and we believe in our capacity to restore the years,” Varney said.

For his part, BYC’s goalie and team leader laughed off Varney’s assertion and stated that he’s entitled to his own opinion.

“We are a side to reckon with and LISCR will feel us on Friday,” goalkeeper Sherman said.

Tomorrow’s game at the Blue Field is a friendly encounter to encourage players to see rivalry as violence, BYC President Sekou Konneh told the Daily Observer yesterday.

“The game is also intended to prepare the players ahead of the league after being match rusty for over eight months,” Konneh opined.

Additionally, the friendly is in celebration of the 2015 Good Friday, (Holy Friday) –traditionally the Friday immediately preceding Easter Sunday, the day on which Jesus Christ was crucified.
