The national U-20 female team has qualified to the second phase of the qualifying rounds of 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's Championship, the Secretary General of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) B. Alphonso Armah has disclosed.
Armah told the Daily Observer yesterday that Liberia’s qualification is owing to the withdrawal of Sierra Leone.
The LFA’s chief scribe said according to the fixture Liberia was to play Sierra Leone in a two-tie game of which was to be on the weekend of May 2 and 3 and return leg would have been in two weeks.
“After the next draw we would be informed which country to play for the second phase,” Mr. Armah said.
Armah confirmed that the senior female national team will meet the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon also in a two-tie game of the 2016 Summer Olympics qualifiers in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Saturday and Friday, May 2 and 8 respectively.
