With absolute calm that is prevailing in the national soccer team, Lone Star, LFA President Musa Bility has called on the sports media not to pitch one player against the other.

Bility told sports journalists in Monrovia yesterday that ten players of the national team are presently in the country, while others are expected in a day to join the preparation for the final countdown against Togo on Sunday.

He said Francis Grandpa Doe, William Jerbo, Sam Johnson and a host of others are ready to defend the national flag and therefore called on sports journalists to encourage them as they prepare for their engagement against Togo.

Directing his attention to SWAL President Roland Mulbah, Bility appealed to him to relate the information to his members to let Liberia’s interest become a priority by encouraging the players.

“We need stability and we need God and therefore we are calling on our religious leaders to join in their efforts to (pray) for our crucial match on Sunday,” Bility said.

Bility noted that the LFA has not received any information about the arrival of the Togolese national team delegation, but said that with visas not being any problem in the ECOWAS sub-region, the delegation could come the day of the match.

He meanwhile pointed out that Liberia vs. Togo’s game is yet to be played and therefore no one should conclude that Liberia has already won the match.

“We need to go to the game with the determination that our success depends on victory on Sunday,” he said.
