The Lion of SEGAL on Saturday October 18 defeated County Meet Champions Grand Bassa 2-1 in a friendly encounter at the Grand Bassa Sport Stadium.
The game started in high spirit with Grand Bassa County dominating almost the first half when in the 44th minute the Bassonians scored their only goal from a penalty kick converted by from Albert Tebah after one of his players was brought down in the 18yard box.
With no time to waste, the Lions found their equalizer in the 45th minute with a powerful kick from SEGAL’s dangerous man, inside left Kelvin Carter to end the half 1-1.
The second session began with both sizes eagerly applying all efforts to find their second goal despite the bad condition of the field.
In the 86th minute, SEGAL found their second goal through Joseph Williams whose 22 yard shot beat the goalkeeper for the winner. SEGAL’s second goal weakened the spirit of the young Bassonians who were very eager for victory, without success.
With the crowd crying behind them for equalizer, the County Meet champions applied all techniques to find to have found equalizer, but to no avail, ending the game end 2 – 1 in favor of the Lions FC of one of Liberia’s most prestigious private security firms ‘Security Expert Guard of Liberia (SEGAL).’
The friendly game climaxed SEGAL’s three-day retreat in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County.
