Dismissed FC Fassell head coach Matthew Saygba Julutweh has been reemployed, but with an uncompromising contract to steer the team at a good standing in all competitions organized by the Liberia Football Association.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of FC Fassell, Cassell A. Kuoh, Sr., stated that the firing of Coach Julutweh was mainly owing to his close relationship with the players which had definitely affected their winning spirit.

He, however, disclosed that the rehiring of Coach Julutweh was owing to lot of pressure from board members, friends as well as fans.

Mr. Kouh made the disclosure at a news conference in their newly decorated offices, Suite 203 in the MC Tower Building, in Monrovia.

The 34-year-old was discharged a week ago following his appalling exit from the Coca-Cola Cup despite the sign-up of eight players, mainly foreigners.

Coach Julutweh was warned would be sacked along with his deputy, physical and goal keeper trainer and team manager if he failed to win the highly-contested tournament over a dishonorable 4-0 defeat by NPA ‘Ruthless’ Anchors.

Mr. Kuoh also announced the former head coach of Nimba United, Sam Chebli, as the new deputy coach, replacing Coach Wilfred Sneh, alias Kojolo, who has been appointed as the Assistant Coach.
Chebli is one of Liberia’s best coaches, evidently of leading the team back to the topflight and emerging as runner-up in the Coca-Cola Cup.

According to sources, he resigned over the weekend owing to sour relationship with Nimba United Chief Executive Officer Adolphus Dolo.

“We are happy to announce that Team Manager Nathaniel Mentah has returned to his official duty and grateful that during his stay the team was able to grab two wins against the U-23 Sierra Leone team and Joy Conqueror,” Mr. Kuoh said.

For his part, the President of FC Fassell, Reginald Nagbe said the decision to recall Coach Julutweh was difficult, thoughtful and salient to keep the team alive.

Coach Julutweh took over FC Fassell in 2009, won the knockout championship and qualified to the 2nd division as runner-up in the play-off.

In the 2009/2010 national football league, FC Fassell qualified to the 1st division as a runner-up and emerged champion of the 1st division in the 2010/2011 league, qualified to premiership and was awarded the 1st division best coach.

In the 2013/2014 league, Coach Julutweh was able to return to the top flight with a “promise’ from the administration of buying him a car if he won the championship and another title that would have qualified them for an international competition. He also won the best coach award in the 2nd division. He made his debut appearance in the CAF Club but was dropped on 4-3 aggregate.
