Morning Star FC defeated Kaba FC 2-1 Monday in continuation of the Central Monrovia Division 3 league at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
It was in the second phase of the league.
Morning Star’s striker Ralph George dribbled three attackers in the first half to get the first goal. Team-mate Emmanuel Williams scored the second goal in the 55th minute.
Kaba FC’s Jackson Yenke got the consolation goal for his side in ther 70th minute. Yenke was on target but could not get the equalizer.
Morning Star FC’s Coach William Doe said his side has not been defeated in the first phase and would like to maintain that record in the second phase. Coach Doe promised to take control of future games by dominating the midfield and assured fans of the team’s progress till the end of the league.
Meanwhile, Junior Oilers defeated Mamba Point FC 1-0 at the same venue. Junior Oilers’ Leroy Puyal got the winner in the first half with an assist by a teammate. Oilers’ president, Siaffa Kamara, said the 3rd division league is competitive and said he hoped his side would perform better in the second phase.
