The final of the Barnersville Old Timers Sports Association’s 36th anniversary comes on this Sunday, February 16, between LPRC-Custom Brokers and LPRC-Petroleum Storage Terminal (PST), at the Barnersville Sports Pitch.
LPRC-Custom Brokers reached the final after defeating Johnsonville 2-0 in their first game and defeated BOSAC 4-3 in penalties. LPRC-PST also reached the final by beating Super Petroleum 3-1 also on penalties and defeated host team BOSA 2-0.
The tournament is to promote peace in LPRC and the community, according to Janjay Jacobs, chairman of the organizing committee. He said several personalities will be honored for their support towards the development of sports.
They will include Rep. J. Gabriel Nyenka (Dist. 11), Mr. John B. S. Davies, president of Super BOSAC, Senator Geraldine Doe-Sheriff, Deputy Speaker Hans Bachue, Augustine Marron, and Mr. James G. Sullie and current president of BOSA, Lee Boye.
BOSA was founded Mr. J. C. Willie.
