The ongoing renovation at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) located at the UN Drive in Monrovia, has ruled out its usage in the pending 2015 Liberia Football Association (LFA) national League.
Football Chief Musa Bility on Tuesday said the ATS’ renovation would take at least eight weeks, meaning the field might be readied during the 2nd phase of the league.
Howbeit, the LFA boss has added the Doris Williams Sports Stadium located in the Port City of Buchanan to the list of pitches to be used for the pending league.
He also named the FC BYC pitch, the Blue Field – located in PHP Community in Monrovia and the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County.
Bility said even though the playing pitch at Doris Williams stadium is still below expectation, the technical arm of the FA will work to improve it before the commencement of the league.
Howbeit, it’s not really clear whether the LFA would allow for teams to play at the TUSA Filed Sports Pitch in Gardnersville; the Barnersville Estate Sport Pitch in Barnersville Estate, the Unification Town Sports Pitch in Margibi County, and the D. Tweh Field in New Kru Town because of being substandard.
But sources say the fields would be used if the financial tag of its usage is tackled by clubs who claimed to be their home fields.
