Liberia’s former football giant, LISCR FC, has hired two new technical staff – head and deputy coaches in preparation for the new season.

LISCR FC has also signed up 10 players to complete the difficult puzzle of maintaining its morale in the top flight as well as building a winning team for the 2014/2015 LFA League.

According to LSCR FC ‘s media officer, Numennie Williams, the team has hired former Monrovia Breweries manager, Francis Sarploh as head coach, replacing Gabriel Johns and its former administrative manager and interim head coach Zayzay Kollie as the Deputy Coach.

“Getting Sarploh is a real takeover for LISCR,” said the team’s public relations officer. “Sarploh approaches coaching with an added passion and tenacity than what he did during his impressive career at the Breweries.”

He added: “Deputy Coach Zayzay Kollie played in the top flight and ably served as interim head coach – he still has fantastic physique, fantastic technique, and a fantastic brain.”

The Gardnersville based outfit has retained long serving physical trainer Prince Kolleh and one of their own, Cooper Fannah, as Administrative Manager.

In an exclusive interview yesterday he said LISCR FC has signed up its former potent striker Dominic Jlateh from Red Lions including ex-Red Lion’s midfielder and defender Abraham Barshall and Grosso Sloboh.

The Breweries’ gangling defender Blidi Jackson, midfielder Stephen Seamah of NPA Anchors and Mighty Blue Angels’ desperate striker Thomas Myers have also joined the Ship Boys.

The remaining hired players include midfielder Allen Njie from 3rd division club Pepper FC as well as midfielders Terrance Jones (on loan from Gardnersville FC) including defenders Momo Kiadi and Lasannah Kanneh.

The new signees are expected to blend with skipper Mohammed Varney, Carlos Sanney and others to unleash a successful spell.

“Majority of the players we have signed are youthful and have a long way to go. We remain confident that they will give us what we need this season,” Numennie opined.

Mr. Williams had divulged that Coach Sarploh would be officially revealed soon, including the 10 new signees.

He disclosed that LISCR FC has dropped six players, with one been move down to Gardnersville FC.

Players who contracts were expired and could not be extended include Farmolu Kamara, Savanus Morris, Titus Doemah, Momo Gorlafaley and Dominic Savage – while, Nicholus Zoe has been sent to its feeder team – Gardnersville FC.

The Ship Boys, since 2011 has been faulty in the title race in any of the three LFA’s tournaments, — but still remain the 2nd most successful team in Liberia’s contemporary football with 8 trophies to show their efforts.

Presently, FC BYC come sailing in as the most successful team two of the three competitions, winning the LFA League and the Super Cup thrice, but grasped the FA Cup (knockout) once. FC BYC’s feeder team – BYC II also won the FA Cup once.

FC BYC followed by LISCR are the current football giants in the top flight not considering the likes of Barrolle, IE and the Liberia’s Black Star, which has been out of the title race 0 years old.
