Two days later, BYC were crowned double champions after edging out LISCR FC 4-0 in the FA Cup final at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).

Defender Swen was outstanding in the defense of the double champions during the season despite playing among new teammates. The 19-year-had another exceptional performance in the knockout cup final, clearing the ball off the goal line on two occasions to deny the former champions from getting a goal and ensured that his side won the game with a clean sheet.

His overall season performance has earned him lots of admiration from football fans who have considered him as the best defender of the 2018 league season.

Joining BYC from Keitrace FC was a huge challenge that came with lots of responsibilities for the 19-year-old. He was signed in September 2017 on a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee. He needed to prove his knack in order to form a part of the starting lineup and playing time and was signed by the newly crowned champions along with a new breed of players ahead of the new season.

“I made a tough decision to join BYC, because there are several players on the team who play the same role I play. Not many thought I could have had the playing time, but I accepted the challenge and promised to live up to expectation and, by the grace of God, I was able to achieve my goals,” he said.

The 19-year-old, who scored three goals in all competitions in the just ended league season, thanked his fellow teammates and fans for the collective teamwork and support.

Swen also has his mind on the next season and has promised to deliver better performance as his side will be defending their double titles.
