Donamisport/YMCA will take 18, U-14 players, for the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup in Dallas, Texas, United States from April 13-20, 2014.
“It has been a tough selection to reduce the number to 25,” Donamisport’s CEO Doc Lawson told the Daily Observer last Tuesday, “but we have to carry out the process.”
He said national coaches; including LFA Technical Director, Henry Brown and Kaetu Smith are helping in the process.
“After the 25 players are selected,” Lawson said, “the coaches will still go ahead to reduce the number to 18 for the April 2014 trip.”
He said the rest of the players will be part of the national youth development effort. Dallas Cup is the oldest international youth soccer tournament in the United States. Since its inception in 1980, Dallas Cup has played host to teams and referees from over 45 states, 100 countries and 6 continents.
