The Sale Operation Manager of the Liberia Coca-Cola Bottling Company (LCCBC), Emmanuel C. Boyejio said the Coca-Cola Top 8 Tournament is to transform players’ minds from the scourge of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

Mr. Boyejio stated that the sponsorship is a way of “partnering” with Liberian football.

Vice President of Operations of the LFA, Cassell A. Kouh, who is also Chairman on Media and Marketing Committee, said the value of the Coca-Cola Top 8 Tournament is US$15,000.

The LFA 2nd Vice President said the tournament would be an annual tournament with the participation of the best top teams in the 1st and 2nd divisions.

The President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Musa Bility said the support of Liberia’s Coca-Cola Company isn’t a surprise owing to the involvement of Coca-Cola in football, the world’s most popular game.

The Liberian football boss has appealed to the Liberia’s Coca-Cola to also support the U-17 District League.

The District League would bring 17 teams from the Districts in Montserrado County and simultaneously with the LFA National League, which could kickoff on Wednesday, the 13th of May.

Meanwhile, the official draw ceremony of the Coca-Cola Top 8 Tournament is scheduled on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00pm at the LFA headquarters.
