In the wake of Barrack Young Controllers and LISCR FC signing additional players ahead of the new season, BYC captain Van-Dave Harmon says he is confident of his new teammates.
BYC have secured the signatures of eight players (four defenders, one midfielder, two goalkeepers and a forward) in a bid to prepare the club for the next league season.
The club was unable to retain the title last season after losing five games and drawing two.
Captain Harmon, who finished with new LISCR striker Amadia Kawah as joint top goal scorer in the previous league campaign, said his team’s new breed of players are capable of winning next season’s championship. Harmon and Kawah slotted home 12 goals apiece last season, and the ‘Go Blue Boys’ finished as runners-up.
He welcomed his new teammates at the Blue Field and encouraged them to passionately embrace the pitch and put out their best.
“The administration of the team took a good decision by signing those players which of course I know they are all quality and highly ranked players in Liberia. I’m very confident that our pairing on the field is going to be quite brilliant,” he said.
Commenting on the newly signed players by rivals LISCR, the 21-year-old striker said: “Big names do not play the game, but the effectiveness of every player on the pitch matters.”
He said BYC is not hunting its rivals, but “we are out for trophies and we are fully prepared to produce the best results and become champions.”
