Liberia’s football chief, Musa Bility has described Alphonso Armah as the “best” Secretary General amongst his three predecessors during his first four-years.

Mr. Bility said for the last four years, Armah has proven to be the “best” owing to his hard work, commitment, honesty and cordial relationship among members of the Executive Committee, clubs, journalists and partners of the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

He made the public commendation on Saturday, April 12, 2014 during his 2nd term’s inaugural address in the presence of two of the three past Secretary Generals, including Idrissa Kaba and Nyanquoi Borsay.

Bility’s public declaration expression indicates that Armah will enjoy his confidence as his second four-year term begins to implement his four pillars to develop football in the country.

Bility appointed Mr. Armah, 36, as Secretary General with approval of the LFA Executive Committee on 5th November 2013.

He succeeded Nyanquoi Borsay, who served as Secretary General from November 2011 to 2012.

Earlier, Orishall Gould, who served as Chief of Office Staff in the Bility’s office, and later as Deputy Secretary General acted as Secretary General but was forced to resigned owing to a ‘rift’ between him and Bility.

Veteran referee and French professor Idrissa Kaba, who Bility’s campaign team produced, served as Secretary General from April 2010 to October 2011.

Secretary General Armah is a candidate for the Masters Program in the University of Liberia. He earned a BA Degree in Management from the UL and has several certificates and diplomas from sports administrations he had attended.

“I am grateful to Bility to recognize my work and I see it as a challenge to double-up,” Armah told the Daily Observer in an interview.

The former President of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) Fombah Kanneh, also heaped praises on Secretary General Armah.

“Alphonso is a man of principle and character and is willing to work. He’s self reliant and when he sets a goal he achieves it through persuasive means.”
