MILAN – World Soccer Legend Big George Weah of Liberia has been honored in Pachuca, Mexico last week when he was added to the Salon de Fama (Hall of Fame).
The Hall of Fame in Pachuca (Mexico) was created in 2011 and every year, players and football personalities from Mexico and the rest of the world are welcomed inside.
Honorary president of the institution is none other than Fifa President Sepp Baltter. Amongst the others already inside the Hall of Fame are Marco Van Basten , Butragueno, Zoff, Matthaeus and Hugo Sanchez to name a few.
November 13, Wednesday afternoon (late evening in Italy), nominations included Rossoneri legends George Weah, Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini. Big George and Franco Baresi were in Mexico for the event.
Paolo Maldini recorded a video message through Milan Time for the event. Mia Hamm and Bora Milutinovic were also elected.
Alberto Cerruti, Italian sports journalist, was a part of the jury. Franco Baresi and George Weah were in Mexico while Paolo Maldini sent a video message for the occasion as the three Rossoneri legends were welcomed into the Salon de Fama (Hall of Fame) in Pacchuca, Mexico.
