Athletes Tracy Chayee, 16 and Momolu Sambai, 17, will represent Liberia at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games next month.
Miss Chayee runs the 400m Hurdles while Momolu Sambai dives in the 50m freestyle swimming event. The duo will garb the red-white-and-blue at the event, which runs from August 16-28 in China.
The two qualified when they reached the Olympics due to their performance at the 2014 All Africa Games in Botswana.
Chief d’Mission to China, Fred Pratt told the Daily Observer yesterday that the team is expected to leave by 12 August 2014.
He disclosed that prior to the departure each member of the 7-man delegation will produce an ‘Ebola Clarence’ certificate from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
“The kids are training and we are hopeful they will do their best at the games,” he said.
