Liberia’s Sweden based midfielder Archie Harvey says he is targeting the top flight league in Sweden after climaxing the 2017 league season in the Swedish third tier league.
Harvey, 25, made 11 appearances for his club Arameiska-Syrianska Botkyrka during the just ended league season, starting in eight matches. Unfortunately, the Liberian midfielder’s side finished in the 8th position after collecting 35 points out of 26 league games.
“Though it was the position we targeted, it was also a great season; and my target for the upcoming season is to play higher levels in the Swedish league,” he said.
Harvey, who has been playing in the Swedish league since 2013, joined Arameiska-Syrianska Botkyrka from Division 2 side Södertälje FK in 2016 having played for NFF and Motala AIF in Division 2 in 2015.
The 25-year-old began his football career with Gedi and Sons FC in the Liberian league and later joined Liberia’s traditional side Mighty Barrolle. He was later scouted by Swedish coach Johan Sandahn before moving on to Sweden.
Harvey has so far played eight matches for the Liberian national team. He featured for the Lone Star in West Africa Football Union (WAFU) tournament held in Nigeria.
