SEGAL Expands Fleet with 4 New JMC Pickups

The Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL) has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of four brand-new Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) Pickups, marking a significant enhancement to the operational capabilities of the nation's premier private security institution.

This strategic move underscores SEGAL's ongoing commitment to providing top-notch security solutions in the country and investing in resources to bolster efficiency, responsiveness, and overall service delivery, Acting General Manager, John Kumeh said at the dedication of the vehicles over the weekend.

The addition of these vehicles, dedicated to both administration and operational functions, Kumeh noted, signals a commitment to modernization and optimization to stay at the forefront of the security industry in Liberia.

From administrative tasks to operational deployments, the vehicles will play a pivotal role in enhancing SEGAL's ability to serve clients effectively and promptly, ensuring agility and precision in meeting their evolving needs.

Providing reasons why the company decided to embark on the new project, Kumeh said, “Our aging fleet vehicles are well-worn in appearance and prone to breakdowns, run the risk of missing customer appointments, under-delivering on our customer service, and minimizing our patrol methodology which has the propensity to tarnish the company's image.”

The acquisition of the vehicles, which have since been equipped with high-security technologies, was intended to only avoid using the previous vehicles beyond their productive life, which would run them into the ground but to provide clients with quality services.

“Keeping aging vehicles results in high maintenance and repair costs, high risk of breakdowns, and diminished reliability and safety. So based on the foregoing, the management thought it wise to invest in these brand new vehicles for operational and administrative purposes,” Kumeh said.

“The importance of modernizing our fleet, our current fleet of patrol and administrative vehicles has served us well, but it's essential to recognize that technology and security needs have progressed. Investing in new patrol vehicles becomes imperative as we strive to enhance our response capabilities,” he added.

Kumeh noted that the new investment will ensure efficiency and responsiveness, as well as improve the safety of both clients and officers.

“our modern patrol and administrative vehicles allow our management team to respond swiftly to client’s needs, and improved response times will make a significant difference in emergencies,” he said. “Safety is paramount for both our security officers and the public. Upgrading to a newer model of vehicles ensures better crash protection, improved handling, and features like stability control.”

Kumeh also noted that the new vehicles will also ensure visibility and deterrence. “Our well-branded, visually attractive patrol vehicle acts as a deterrent to potential wrongdoers or suspected criminals and serves as marketing for our contractual form of security. It conveys that SEGAL remains vigilant and committed to maintaining law and order within its borders of control,” he said.

Former General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Momo Tarnuekollie Cyrus, said the acquisition of modern logistics and staff development will remain at the center of the company’s operations as it strives to remain the leader in our target market.

“As the trailblazer in the private security industry protecting our cherished clientele, our secret to achieving continuous success lies in innovation, logistical support focuses on human capacity development,” Cyrus, now a senator for Lofa County, said. “We are very proud of the strides the new management is making in our absence since we left the stage.

SEGAL emphasizes the importance of investing in modern resources to uphold its commitment to excellence. By incorporating the latest technologies and equipment, the company aims to maintain the highest standards of service and exceed the expectations of its valued clients.

The acquisition of the new JMC Pickups represents a strategic investment in enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery for both SEGAL and its clients.
