The President’s Young Professionals Program (PYPP), in collaboration with the Civil Service Agency (CSA), has announced the graduation of 63 young professionals from its three classes, including seven, eight, and nine this August 12, 2022.

The President’s Young Professionals Program was launched in 2009 and stands as a proven model for developing excellence in public service leadership.

The young professionals, who were recruited through a rigorous and meritocratic process, are currently placed across various 22 government ministries and agencies and four private sector institutions, PYPP Executive Director Ciata Stevens d’Almeida told newsmen on Friday, August 5 in Monrovia.

“After two years of mentoring and training, soft and technical skills, each young professional continues to meaningfully contribute to the over achievements of their respective institutions,” d’Almeida said.

She said the 63 young professionals will join over 100 young professionals of PYPP alumni who are already working across more than 29 government ministries and agencies. According to her, since 2017, the entity has not had a graduation.

“These young professionals have supported an upward shift in effective service delivery at their various ministries and agencies, thus improving quality service delivery for the government of Liberia,” she said.

Madam d’Almeida said as the government continues to expand its development initiatives, the PYPP is well positioned to play a major role in this regard. She said the young professionals are positioned to execute the economic and development agenda of the government.

She said several dignitaries are expected to grace the graduation, including heads of government ministries and agencies, ambassadors, USAID Country Director, Country Director of Conservation International, Chief Executive Officer of CONEX Petroleum Group of Companies, and others.

Madam d’Almeida added that the graduation event will be held at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
