This weekend’s fixtures for the Orange First Division scheduled for Sunday, November 28, have been postponed due to LPRC Oilers match against South African side Orlando Pirates in the playoff of the CAF Confederation Cup.
However, the second division will continue this weekend (saturday) with a couple of storylines expected to emerge as always.
There have been a couple of shifts on the league table. Despite starting their debut league season in the second division with an away defeat, Cece United led the way after four rounds of matches.
The debutants currently sit atop of the league table with nine points, one point adrift Tony FC, Bong Rangers, and Jubilee FC, all of whom are leveled on points.
This Saturday will draw back memories when Cece United travel to Bong County to take on Bong Rangers, a repeat of the 2021 National 3rd Division Playoff Final that Bong Rangers won 1-0 at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium.
Both Cece United and Bong Rangers had a fair share of points last weekend after defeating Nimba FC and Jr. Pro, respectively.
Muscat FC, as usual, continued to struggle during the early stage of the season, but managed to get their first and only win so far when they defeated Small Town FC 3-2 at the SKD Mini-stadium, thanks to Mark Yallah for converting a late penalty.
The Paynesville-based club will travel away to Tusa Field this weekend to face NPA Anchors in search for their second win of the season, while Anchors on the other end will be looking for the same as both teams are leveled on points.
Nimba FC had a great run after collecting seven points from their first three games before succumbing to a 4-2 defeat against Cece United last weekend. This weekend will be another test for them as they welcome unbeaten Jubilee FC at the Technical Center in Careysburg.
