Open Letter to President Obama

I write to thank you for your compassion and commitment to justice at home and abroad. As president you have taken many initiatives at home and abroad to support and defend both citizens and foreigners who feel their rights have been violated. Examples include your support for rebels in Libya to overthrow their government. You have armed rebels in Syria fighting to overthrow their government. You also recently requested all school districts across America to allow transgender individuals to use bathrooms based on their gender identity, not their sex at birth. I would advise that you begin supporting citizens movement for participatory democracy in Liberia and elsewhere because democratic governments guarantee security and equal opportunities.

However, initiatives for promoting participatory democracy overseas must begin at home. Therefore, I write to urge you to urgently support American citizens whose lives were destroyed by terrorism on 9/11 by immediately declassifying the 28 classified pages of the 9/11 Report detailing the involvement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the worst terrorist attack on American Soil.

Here are four (4) compelling reasons why I demand that you declassify the 28 pages:
1. I know firsthand how terrorism impacts the lives of human beings from my personal experience and the experiences of friends and family of the atrocities committed in Liberia which forced me to flee my native country and relocate to America.

2. Most countries worldwide look to America for transparency. America cannot create transparency overseas when a massive cover up detailing the role of a foreign undemocratic country in destroying the lives and properties of American citizens is kept secret by the American government.
3. I spent over a decade fighting for American citizens (children) abandoned by the United States government and the Liberian women abandoned by the Liberian government. I know firsthand the pain of abandonment by ones’ own government.

4. I have watched the video of the American families who are enduring decades of unnecessary pain, not just from their losses of 9/11 but their government’s cover up. Since 9/11, over a decade ago, American families and members of Congress have been demanding the declassification of the 9/11 report detailing the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the 9/11 terrorist attack, to no avail. How can America bring transparency to corrupt countries like Liberia when you, Mr. President continue to follow the lead of President Bush in a massive cover-up of a matter pertaining to the lives and security of Americans? As a father, a human being and president who took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the American republic, I urge you to do the right thing and immediately declassify the 28 pages of the 9/11 report. Mr. President, let the chips fall wherever they may because terrorism is no accident but a barbaric plan by a few individuals to destroy the lives of innocent human beings that these terrorists don’t even know. Thanks for your kind consideration of this request.
