Simply Thinking Thoughts

In my thinking thoughts last evening, I realized it would soon be March 15, and we would be celebrating the birthday of the first President of this embattled Republic, J. J. Roberts. I pondered, “How did we arrive at the point where the trend of events are spiraled downwards and appears like an evil spirit has overtaken our country?” It appears like instead of wrestling against demons, principalities and powers, J. J. Roberts’ Liberia has chosen to wrestle against flesh and blood.

Apostle Paul’s Warning
The Apostle Paul in one of his exegesis notes, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6: 12-17, KJV).
In my mind, Paul is warning us that we must not be overly concerned with trivial and mundane things but should pay more attention to wicked, evil, and demonic people among us, who, while we are sleeping, are working and selling their souls and J. J. Roberts’ Liberia for wealth and recognition.

This means, arresting people and dragging them to court, or chasing people who J. J. Roberts’ Liberia perceives as enemies is similar to wrestling against flesh and blood and forgetting the real enemies. Fellow citizens, aren’t these events similar to the wave of profiling and arbitrary arrests that led to April 6, April 14, April 12, December 1990 and the incarceration of Charles Taylor in Europe?

Wrestle with Principalities, Powers and Rulers of Darkness
You see, President Tolbert’s administration first encountered these same principalities and demonic powers several events led to the April 14, 1979 rice riot. While Rev. Tolbert was praying for God to intervene by being forgiving and granting opposition parties the right to exist for the sake of peace, “principalities and powers” solidified their position and Rev. Tolbert, the Lord’s anointed, was murdered. For the sake of brevity, other events led to the 1990 war that opened a floodgate for thousands of demons that overtook the nation and the rest, is history. But no sooner had we thought the evil demon had left us alone, than it reaffirmed its grips on J. J. Roberts’ Liberia.

Hope for J. J. Roberts’ Liberia-God’s Iron Suit
But the Apostle Paul in his exegesis does not leave us hopeless. He advises that J. J. Roberts’ Liberia, instead of wrestling flesh blood, she must put on the whole armor (iron suit) of God that she may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil, who has taken over the country. The iron suit contains the belt of truth around her waist, and breastplate of righteousness; and the gospel of peace as shoes for her feet; J. J. Roberts’ Liberia must use the shield of faith, with which she can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; she must wear the helmet of salvation, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, and most of all, she must pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayers and supplication.

In recent time, it appears like we are fighting with flesh and blood instead of the demons in our midst. Make no mistakes for some of our fellow citizens among us have entered blood covenants with the Devil for appointed and elected positions. These are the real enemies, principalities, demonic powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and evil spirits sitting in high government and legislative offices.

Now, if you find it hard to receive my prophetic word, consider the recent trend of events in J. J. Roberts’ Liberia. Ebola took lives and left; Commerce Minister Allen’s car ran under a parked truck, Public Works Minister Gyude Moore got hit by an unidentified vehicle, Miss Zayzay allegedly hanged herself in a police cell and autopsy reports have been challenged; Harry Greaves walked into RLJ alive and kicking, and was found dead on the beach behind the Foreign Ministry and J. J. Roberts’ Liberia remains bewildered;

The whistle blower Michael Allison in the Tyler et al. case was found dead in the same spot as Greaves; GT Bank Manager fell off a boat, drowned, and George Kailondo stands accused of having a hand it and JJ Roberts Liberia is still baffled; Simeon Freeman made far-fetched statements and skedaddled to avoid arrest; Vandalark Patricks blabbered into politics, got arrested and allegedly got injected and seeking Madam Sirleaf’s help to restore his health; Archie Sarnor got arrested for defying police order. All of this appears like J. J. Roberts’ Liberia was mortgaged to a demon and the demon has returned to reap or claim its debt.

As we observe J. J. Roberts’ birthday holiday on March 15, I enjoin all Liberian citizens and foreigners alike to take a moment and reflect on the scariness that has engulfed J. J. Roberts’ Liberia. Come brethren, let us reason together that this country is under an attack by a legion of demons and she needs to “put on the whole amor of God.”
Let us reason together, that arrests and threats on people’s lives will only keep the devil active but wearing God’s whole iron suit can beat the devil, come 2017 and beyond.
Now, which of parts of “God’s iron suit” is Liberia wearing, considering the trend of events? Let us therefore arm ourselves with weapons that can fight spiritual wickedness and evil powers and purge demonic powers that are sitting in our government and political places instead of taking up arms against weak, and enervated, flesh and blood as we are doing.
